We take a side trip to one of the
most somber memorials of the past Auschwitz to visit
the museum
and the memorial. We then continue on to Warsaw via Czestochowa,
famous for its Holy Shrine
where pilgrims come to see the Black Madonna. |

4: Warsaw |

Warsaw has been the capital of Poland
since 1596. During World War II most of the city was
destroyed. However, much of the city, the Royal Palace, and its important
landmarks have been
restored. This morning, drive to the Old Town and
the Warsaw Ghetto area, the Royal Route, and Lazienki
Park with Chopin's monument. The balance
of the day at leisure. |
