Arrive in London. After customs
formalities, we will take a panoramic city tour of London and arrive
at your hotel by noon. Enjoy the balance of the day at leisure. After
some rest and relaxation, you may
want to visit a museum or an art gallery. |

Full day tour of London's best sites,
including: Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace,
the House of Parliament, St. Paul's Cathedral and

5: London/Salisbury/Stonehenge/Bath |
 |
Today we will drive
to the historic cathedral city of Salisbury. We will
take a guided walking tour along
the River Avon in full view of the majestic cathedral and its soaring
spire so beloved to the artist John
Constable. Stop at the ancient stone age Monument of Stonehenge.
We will continue to Glastonbury,
one of the centers of religious pilgrimage in England, to visit the
great Abbey of Glastonbury which
was built upon the site of a 1st century church. We will then continue
on to Bath. |

6: Bath/Stratford Upon Avon |
 |
| |
Start the day with city tour of
Bath situated on the River Avon, which first became famous as a spa
town under Roman occupation. The highlight of your tour will be a
visit to the perfectly preserved Roman bath
and the adjoining pump room. We continue North into the area known
as Cotswolds.
For many, the Cotswold is the epitome of England with picturesque
villages built from local honey
colored stone and colorful gardens. En route we pass through the wonderful
villages of Bourton-on-
the-water and Stow-on-the-Wold, the latter
being famous for it's market square and antique shops.
We continue on to Stratford Upon Avon. This historic town is famous
as the birthplace of the
playwright William Shakespeare. |

7: Stratford/Cambridge |

We begin the day with stops at Coventry
Cathedral and Worchester Cathedral. We then
continue
on to the university city of Cambridge. Here we will visit Corpus
Christi, St. Catherine's and the
nearby Bury St. Edmund's Abbey Ruins. |

8: Cambridge/York |

We continue North to Leicestershire
for a visit to Belvoir Castle and drive through the
richest
farmland in Britain to arrive in York, England's
most medieval city. Enjoy a guided walking tour of the
medieval streets and walls. York Minster contains the greatest concentration
of medieval stained
glass, including the brilliant Rose Window in the west facade and
the famous 13th century Five
Sisters Window. |

9: York/Edinburgh (Scotland) |

Today, we drive through the
interesting section of Hadrian's
Wall, then through wild Northumberland National Park. We
cross the Scottish border into Jedburgh to visit the ruins and
the Abbey. En route to Edinburgh, "Prince
of Cities", we visit
Sir Walter Scott's Abbotsford House. |

10: Edinburgh |

History comes alive as we
drive along Princess Street and
the Royal Mile. Visit Edinburgh Castle, St. Giles Cathedral
and the Gallery of Modern Art. |

11: Edinburgh-Oban |

We drive over the elegant
Forth Road Bridge and through
Fife to St. Andrews, whose Royal and Ancient
Golf Club is
among the best in the world. Continue on through the
highlands, lochs, forests, mountains, and the Whiskey Trail,
to arrive in Oban. En route, we visit Glen
Turret Distillery. |

12: Oban/Iona/Oban |

Following the steps of Samuel Johnson and Boswell,
we take the ferry to the wild and scenic Isle of
Mull. Arriving in Fionnphort, we take foot-ferry to the mystical
Isle of Iona. Iona was the site of the first
Christian settlement in Scotland where St. Columba of Ireland founded
a Celtic monastery and
introduced Christianity to the Scottish mainland. The community was
founded by the Rt. Rev. Lord
George MacLeod. Return to Oban. |

13: Oban/Glasgow |

Today we follow Loch Lomond
down through the wild Highland Trossachs, seeing mountains and
lochs. This famed area of history and romance was described by Sir
Walter Scott in The Lady of the
Lake and Rob Roy. We arrive in Glasgow by noon to visit Glasgow
Cathedral and the acclaimed Burrell Collection.
Tonight's farewell dinner will be a fitting conclusion to our tour
of England and
Scotland. |
