the Doges Palace, the Bridge of Sighs,
the Dungeons, and a glass blowing factory where Venetian glass is
made. We continue on to Florence with a brief stop in Padua
or Ravenna. Dinner and overnight Florence. |

After Mass,
We will explore this beautiful Renaissance city and its treasures
including Michelangelo's David, the marble Cathedral
and Baptistery, Santa Croce Church, Ghilberti's "Door
of Paradise", Ponte Veccio and Giotto's
Bell Tower. Dinner and overnight Florence. |

5: Florence/Siena/Assisi |

The
drive through the picturesque Tuscany and Umbria region takes
us to Siena, the birthplace of St. Catherine. Here we will
stroll the Piazza del Campo, one of Italy's finest squares.
Mass at the Cathedral. Later we continue on to the pilgrimage
center of Assisi. Dinner and overnight Assisi. |

6: Assisi |

We begin
by attending Mass at the crypt of St. Francis and then explore
the huge 13th-century Basilica. Next, visit the church of
St. Clare and the St. Mary of the Angels Basilica. |

This basilica is the site
of the Porziuncola, the thornless rose bush and cave where St. Francis
retired for prayer. We stroll the medieval streets of the compact
little town. Dinner and overnight Assisi. |

7: Assisi/Loreto/Rome |

Today, we travel to the
great Marian Shrine of Loreto to visit the "Holy House of Nazareth"
and the beautiful Madonna of Loreto. On to Rome. Dinner and overnight
Rome. |

8: Rome/Vatican City |
 |
| |
We start our
day with the weekly Papal Audience and blessing
(when possible). Later we visit the Vatican Museum,
the Sistine Chapel and view Michelangelo' frescos;
visit the Basilicas of St. Peter
(the largest church in the world). The balance of the day at leisure.
Dinner and overnight Rome. |

9: Rome |

Full day tour of Rome include visits
to three major Basilicas: St. Mary Major and the
Holy Stairs, St. John Lateran, and
St. Paul outside the Walls. We will also visit the Catacombs
of St Callixtus, the Appian way, Capitoline Hill,
St. Peter in Chain, Colosseum, view the Forum,
Arch of Constantine, Circus Maximus, and Palazzo Venezia. Explore
the beauty of Rome as you climb the Spanish Steps
and a stop at the famous Trevi Fountain. Dinner and
overnight Rome. |
