DAY 1: Depart USA
  Departure from USA for Bangkok.
  DAY 2: Welcome to Bangkok
  Arrive in Bangkok, Thailand’s largest city, where the modern meets the traditional.
  DAY 3: The City’s Highlights
 
Travel through Chinatown, passing the colorful flower market of Pak Klong Talad and Rattanakosin Island, then take a guided tour of the Royal Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Board a water taxi to explore some of Bangkok’s canals, the Temple of Dawn, and the Royal Barge Museum. Lunch at a beautiful riverside restaurant.
  DAY 4: Thai Cuisine
  Learn the secrets of making authentic Thai cuisine. Participate in a hands-on cooking class, set in a traditional –style teakwood house. Lunch and plenty of snacks are provided.
  DAY 5: Markets and Culture
 
Day trip to the famous Damnoen Saduak floating market where local traders in small boats converge to sell their fresh fruit, vegetables, snacks, handicrafts and items used in everyday rural life. Continue to the Rose Garden Resort for traditional entertainment and to Nakorn Pathom, site of the Country’s tallest pagoda.
  DAY 6: History
 
Travel to Sukhothai, Thailand’s first capital. Tour the Sukhothai Historical Park,a tram can take you through the historical ruins. Stay in nearby Phitsanuloke.
  DAY 7: Up to the Mountains
 
Visit one of the most beautiful Buddha images in the kingdom, a Buddha image casting foundry and a folk art museum. After lunch, board an air-conditioned train for evening arrival in Chiang Mai, the center of traditional handicrafts.
  DAY 8: Meet the Elephant
 
Drive up to an elephant camp. Watch a demonstration and enjoy an elephant ride through the forest.
Afterwards stop at an exotic orchid farm and the mountaintop temple of Wat Doi Suthep.
  DAY 9: Free Day
 
The day is yours! Shop in many handicraft workshops, visit the city’s ancient temples, Take a cooking class, or relax in a spa.
  DAY 10: Up North
 
In the hills of the North, visit a Thai buffalo camp to learn about this important but disappearing animal. Further into the mountains, explore the expansive Chiang Dao caves, filled with Buddhist shrines. Then board a long-tail boat for a scenic ride down the Mae Nam Kok.
  DAY 11: Bangkok
 
Return to Bangkok for the last night before departure.
